Prelim - Preparation, Planning, Storyboard, Animatic

In this lesson were given a brief to film a sequence, which should include at least one Match Cut, an example of Shot/Reverse Shot and also an understanding of the 180 Degree Rule.

The 180 degree rule is that you are only allowed to shoot from the same side, for example if two characters are having a conversation and the camera is on the right, then you can't just move the camera to the opposite side of the conversation because then it will look like the two characters have changed position. therefore, it's important that we perfectly shoot the 180 degree rule because we need every aspect of our prelim film to look realistic.

"A Character opens a door, walks into a room, sits down opposite another character and they share a few lines of dialogue"

Before we start to film our prelium excersise, we have created a 'animatic' storyboard for our sequence.
