Idea for our thriller opening...

Opening titles to the Panic Room

I think it will be a good idea for us to open our thriller with the traditional film opening like the one that you can see above, we should give our audience some idea of what the film will be about or where the film is set, but we should not give to much away because we don't want our audience to know everything in the film

We can take shots of the most famous landmarks around London, such as big Ben and the London eye, we can then use the skills we learnt in class the other day to place text over the top of the images letting the audience know who was involved in the making of the movie, i think it will also look pretty cool if we were to make the text blend in with the landmarks like what you can see above, if we make the text feel like it is apart of the landmarks then it will make our film look much more professional.

From this we can go into an out of focus shot of a man walking down the street, something like the one we saw in the short clip of Arlington Road, this man can have blood all over his face and clothes, to let the audience know who the main character will be, this also informs the audience that this person will most likely be the villain, after this shot we can then either go into the idea that Nancy came up with, which was to be trapped in college with a serial killer or we can go into another scenario where the psycho escapes from a mental institute, and then goes and murders an innocent family in the centre of London, we can do that by using the technique from The Stepfather, where the psycho acts like he is completely normal by eating and having a wash and then he walks in the living room and everyone is dead.
