Examples Of Intertexuality - Majeda

I have understood the concept of intertexuality and I am able to recognise intertexual references between two films. In terms of props, mirrors is key in the two films that is shown below.

The above image is from the film Reflections where there is an unusual reflection. This is similar to the image below from the film Mirrors.

It is clear that in horror films, props such as mirrors are frequently used. This feature is something I have considered doing for our thriller.

On the other hand, I have thought about intertexuality and incorporating this into our thriller. The image below is of the girl in The Ring. For our thriller, the character we use can have long, dark hair with a straightjacket on like the girl shown below. The audience would be able to identify this and they would be familiarised with the girl in The Ring. It can be done through humour however, it is not our intention to do so.
