This tittle sequence does not consist of much as it literally just involves credits (could be in a fancy font) which appear on a blank screen. In thrillers for example, the screen would be made black to with font that stands out or have been edited by the way they appear. It is known to be very simple but can be used to create a great impression for a thriller movie. There are no images in this sequence because the whole point of having a blank screen is that you don't give away the story line.
Here are some screen grabs from Dead Calm
Stylised editing(MESRINE - 1984)
This structure involves a lot of editing shots that would possibly take a long time to put together. It also makes the images and pictures edited so that it perfectly fits in well with the theme of the movie. From this we could be able to see action happening possibly from two different scenes.
The story of french gangster Jacques Mesrine, before he was called Public Enemy N°1.
Here are some screen grabs to express the meaning of this sequence
The base colour in the background is black. This screen grab shows two different scenes but of the same woman. However, they are taken from different shot types. The first one is a medium long-shot which gives the audience a view of what the woman us wearing. The second image is larger which enables us to see where we is walking and what is ahead of her (cars blurred). She is the main focus. In is image the camera focuses on a man. There is text on top(foreign language). The camera places the view as though looking out of the window. This image is placed in the lower centre of the screen in a rectangular shape.
In this grab we are able to see two different scenes happening. But the main one is enlarged at the top half of the screen. The Credits are arranged underneath it next to the smaller sized scene happening below.
In this grab there are three shots displayed showing a medium close up of the man looking ahead and below that we can see a medium close up of the woman being followed by the man in the far back behind her. After it moves the audiences focus to the largest shot of a close- up of the man following her. This allows the audience to get a better look at his facial emotional, possible we would be able to suggest what the cause him following her could be.
This last grab shows three different shots of the same man. This show the sequence of movements that he makes.
