Evaluation...Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Conventions are all the things that are in the opening of a movie and these may include the production company, title, cast, producers, director and more, the whole point of placing these conventions at the start of the film is to inform the audience of who was involved in the making of the film, they are also there to let the audience know what companies were funding the film, this enables them to publicise themselves in a way that gets them recognized by the audience, this also means that when the audience knows that the same production companies are behind another movie they will be eager to watch it.

In our title sequences we used all the traditional conventions that were used in major thriller films such as psycho, we made sure that our audience knew exactly who was behind the making of the film, it was also important to add the producers and the directors, we did this all to make it look more realistic and professional, without the use of conventions the film opening would not be very believable and our audience would not want to watch the rest of the film.

You can see from the images that i have used a lot of the conventions that are traditional to be used in the thriller films out there today, i think our only mistake is making them appear on screen really fast. when we create our music video next year i will make sure that we make the text stay on screen for a longer period of time, long enough for our audience to read what is up on screen.

Overall i am happy with the way that the text has appeared on screen, we also spent a lot of time on live type putting cool effects onto the fim opening, my only regret is not spending enough time on the effects because i think we could have made them really better.
