Health & Safety Tutorial - Majeda

During our Health & Safety Tutuorial I learnt how to use the cameras and the techniques of framing. I learnt how to deal with the memory card, battery and tripods in the safest way possible. I know how to adjust the focus so I can apply these in our shots in the opening of our thriller film to create out of focus images. It is extremely vital that everyone in the group knows how to use the cameras responsibly and with great care as they are expensive.

It is important to know how to deal with the memory card. If the switch is in the wrong place, no recording will take place. This will waste a lot of time and be stressful among the group members as whatever needs to be recorded may have to be done several times.

I learnt how to insert and take out the battery safely and correctly so I wont damage the camera and the battery itself.

I also learnt how to handle the tripod, we were taught how to attach the camcorder safely and correctly to the tripod itself and also dettach it. It is important we know how to use them in the rightful way as we are expected to use this whilst filming.

We learnt how to frame correctly, we were able to try this out as a group during our framing activity, an example is of the rule of thirds etc. Overall, I know how to use the camera in a safe and responsible manner, I also know how to frame correctly therefore, I am capable of using the cameras in order to film the opening of the thriller.
