Conventions of film openings - Majeda

Film openings consist of many conventions for e.g. production logos, music, cuts, opening credits etc. These are all equally important as it, one is the main production and distribution logos that work on the movie are shown. An example is the Warner Bros.Pictures company, these can be edited and the edits can highlight the genre of the film therefore making it more appealing like the Legendary Pictures company in Inception. It is shown with very dark, dull colours connoting the film is very dark and intense which builds suspense.

Another main convention of a film opening is music. This is best known for its effectivity of highlighting the films genre. for e.g. if it was a horror film, it would be more likely to hear drones and gloomy music. Whereas if it was an comedy, it would be more likely to hear upbeat, fast and cool music. Moreover, actors names or pictures are also shown, if they are big stars they may use this to attract the viewers attention and the viewer would feel the suspense and would want to know what is their role in the movie.
